BIRD REMOVAL INTERVENTIONS
Pigeons, flocks, doves, crows, seagulls and sparrows, now increasingly present in urban areas, constitute a serious threat not only to buildings, monuments, cornices etc., to which they cause permanent damage, but also and above all to public health. Through their excrement, these birds are carriers of about 60 diseases, some of which are fatal, contagious for humans and pets. They are also carriers of fleas, ticks, mites, which often cause heavy infestations inside buildings where their nests are located, especially inside attics.

WHAT THE LAW SAYS
Law no. 968 of 27/12/72 prohibits the capture, poisoning and killing of pigeons, allowing only the use of harmless methods to remove them from homes, monuments and buildings.
To prevent pigeons from landing on cornices, gutters, windowsills, friezes, monuments etc. various systems have been studied:
- Electrostatic systems
- Mechanical systems
- Metal and polyethylene nets
All methods are humane and harmless to birds, do not cause damage to the building and do not alter the architectural aesthetics of the building.
